Charity 2022: Running Blind Breda

Out of ten entries, Running Blind Breda was unanimously chosen to the charity of 2022. The Breda branch of Running Blind is still in its infancy, but the plans are ambitious. How cool would it be if your contribution to this good cause resulted in a special Running Blind track in the Mastbos for people with a visual impairment? Are you taking part in the Singelloop?!
When you are visually impaired or blind, participating in sports is not always a given. Yet there are plenty of opportunities. At Running Blind you run with a buddy who accompanies you. The blind or visually impaired runner and the buddy both hold one end of a rope. In this way, the buddy can give instructions while running. The buddies run along on a voluntary basis. The trainers of the running group are qualified and can therefore pay good attention to running technique. This is an important added value for the target group and for running.
Stronger together
Because Running Blind Breda has been chosen as the charity for 2021, even more energy can be put into finding new runners with a visual impairment. Also, thanks to this great cooperation, materials to train together and the training of more trainers and buddies can be funded.
The 35th Lustrum Singelloop edition will be extra special this year. This year, the race is not only being run by visually impaired people, but it is also being made more accessible to spectators and attendants who are blind or visually impaired.
