In 2024, we put National Fund for Children’s Aid in the extra spotlight as charity of the Breda Singelloop. In the municipality of Breda, more than 3,000 children grow up in poverty (CBS 2020 figures). Kinderhulp is one of the organizations that wants to help these children, so they can grow up just like any other child, without poverty hindering them.

Kinderhulp is there for all children and young people in the Netherlands who grow up in poverty. And helps them, unconditionally. So that they too can belong and get the same opportunities for the future. Just like every other child. Every child deserves a childhood without worries. To be equal, to friends. However, 1 in 12 children under 21 in the Netherlands grows up in poverty. That’s over 315,000 children andyoung people who have a far from carefree childhood. They make the best of it, but always and everywhere notice that there is not enough money at home.
Something big, or something small
Children’s Aid helps with something big, or something small. Something that gives them the strength to participate. Still that bike, a carefree day out. An education, a warm winter coat, or a present from Saint Nicholas after all. Things that seem very ordinary, but still make a difference for the children. So that they too can belong. Now and in the future.
When others can’t help
When other agencies can’t help, Children’s Aid is there. With something a child needs and always through social organizations. For example, a social worker, trustee, city council district team or youth aid worker.
Kinderhulp helps
Thanks to our donors, sponsors and partners, we helped as many as 116,734 children growing up in poverty in 2022.

More fun for the kids in Breda!
In 2023 Kinderhulp in the municipality of Breda has, so far, helped a child/young person almost 2,700 times with (a financial contribution for) clothing, a day out and/or vacation, room furnishing and independent living, bicycles, study costs and laptops, swimming lessons, toys and other requests such as money for a baby outfit, glasses or contact lenses, an identity card, a Summer fun package or a gift from Saint Nicholas. About 1,200 of these requests for help were for children in the 0-11 age group and about 1,500 in the 12-21 age group.
